What it does
Let’s Go is a transport app built for Tanzania and written Kiswahili-first rather than translated into it. It carries three services in one place — City Ride for journeys within a city, Delivery for sending parcels, and Intercity for longer trips between towns — and is live in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Mwanza, Dodoma, Mbeya and Zanzibar.
How it works
A rider picks the service they need and the app matches them to a nearby driver, showing the car’s position and the route on a live map. Before getting in, the rider confirms the vehicle with a one-time code and a trip PIN — that check exists because matching a name to a number plate on a busy street is where most of the risk in this kind of service sits. Rider and driver message inside the app, in Kiswahili or English, so neither has to hand over a phone number to explain a pickup point. Fares are shown in TSh, and every completed trip stays in a history with its price and status.
Using it
Install from the App Store or Google Play, choose City Ride, Delivery or Intercity, and book. Watch the driver approach on the map, check the OTP and trip PIN before boarding, message the driver if the pickup needs explaining, and review past trips and what they cost from the trip history.
